MTM Robotics LLC (MTM) (An Airbus Company) is looking for a qualified individual to fill an opening as a Senior Program Manager. MTM designs, manufactures, and installs automated assembly and control systems for research and industrial manufacturing applications in the aerospace industry. Our tools are used in the direct manufacture of large-scale aerospace structures. We have a dynamic, talented and collaborative engineering team and want those who are energized by contributing to eloquent, ingenious yet simple solutions to solve our customer's toughest problems.


  • Be able to comprehend engineering concepts across Mechanical, Electrical, Software and Systems engineering to effectively manage projects.
  • In general terms, the scope of any given program can be from pre-definition of requirements (pre-purchase order) to system integration complete at both the program and project level.
  • In company organization terms, the program/project manager receives work from the Sales/Executive team and hands off during the Support stage of deployment, though engagement may occur during these pre and post phases as well.
  • The PM will establish schedules and budget to hold themselves accountable to.
  • Expect to work independently in complex situations such as managing challenging customers, determining resource and issue prioritization, and for making complex and high impact decisions.
  • The PM manages the program directly and engages key stake holders if supervision outside the scope of the program is needed.



  • Recognize the difference between program impact vs. business impact. When changes/decisions have business impact, engage with key stake holders before acting.
  • Be the center of communication and action between the MTM team and the customer for the successful delivery of program deliverables as defined below.
  • Independently prioritize components of a program such as resource management, tasks, issues etc.
  • Ensure all program deliverables meet the specification/requirements, are delivered on time based on the master schedule provided and are within the established program budget.
  • Ensure each specification is formally received from Sales and translated into a complete list of prioritized development and/or production deliverables. Anticipate and resolve, no surprises.
  • Ensure all requirements are understood, requesting clarity ASAP when unknowns exist. Anticipate and resolve, no surprises.
  • If deliverables are well defined but out of scope (budget, schedule, requirements) communicate to key stakeholders. Anticipate and resolve, no surprises.
  • Quickly document and communicate with both MTM and customer stakeholders when conscious changes are made to the schedule or budget due to but not limited to changes or incompleteness to the specification and/or requirements. No surprises.
  • While staying within a program budget, optimize profitability, making conscious spending decisions based on established deliverables, specifications, and requirements.

MTM Facing

  • Ensures program team members are on schedule and within scope of requirements. If at risk, engage with the manager or leads. Anticipate and resolve.
  • Work with key stakeholders to create internal development and production schedules and shipment packing lists prescribing to the Purchase Order.
  • Work with all Engineering Departments to ensure BOMs and drawings are complete.
  • Provide formal handoff of BOMs to Supply Chain.
  • Ensure on time delivery of parts to Manufacturing.
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure a smooth production cycle.
  • Establish and run internal program meetings providing overall status regarding priorities, customer interactions, schedule, budget, and achievement of requirements.
  • Anticipate and communicate issues to stakeholders, clearly defining and presenting plans to overcome identified issues within established completion dates. Don't let issues linger, attack and resolve.
  • Properly manage internal scope creep when requests are made outside existing requirements to ensure the integrity of the budget and schedule.
  • When appropriate, ensure the programs if formally handed over to the next owner, clearly communicating all requirements and known issues.
  • Schedule and drive program wrap-up debrief meeting with key stake holders to identify lessons learned (good and bad). Convert output of meeting into improving existing or creating new processes to ensure future improvement.

Customer Facing

  • Be the customer point of contact, clearly communicating progress on requirements, schedule, and issues. Schedule regular and one-off customer meetings as necessary.
  • Manage external scope creep when requests are made outside existing requirements to ensure the integrity of the budget, schedule and specification/requirements.
  • Effectively avoid or diffuse customer frustration by employing conflict resolution tactics and directing attention to solutions meeting common goals and requirements.
  • Communicate customer issues and challenges to upper management ASAP to keep awareness and to receive mentoring in how to move forward.
  • Be available for extended hours, and on-call duty as necessary.

The ideal candidate would have the following experience and skills:

  • S. Citizenship or green card required.
  • Required to pass our customer's background checks to gain access to their factories.
  • Be available to travel domestically and internationally to customer sites, providing technical and program leadership up to 2 weeks at a time, up to 25% or working time.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of program management or lead experience.
  • 5-7 years, experience providing quality customer service.
  • 5 years engineering experience (ME, EE, Software, Systems, Applications).
  • Professional, consistent, calm, clear, and confident oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to lead people without management authority.
  • An individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • A motivated, results and detail-oriented individual who can independently assess, identify, plan and resolve issues before they arise.
  • The ability to manage and resolve conflict between MTM and customers, balancing business and customer needs while maintaining relationships.
